Silver Palace Detective Build: Hugin and Munin Kit

The Detective is the only starter in the roster, and the kit is built around one round of Ammunition at a time. Here is the CBT2 loop for Hugin and Munin, the per-hit numbers, and the weapon description that is still unresolved.

CBT2 data Updated 2 November 2026 · Launch values may differ

Short answer: land the full five-hit Double-Edged Sword: Truth & Deceit string. Hits three and five generate Ammunition — one round and two rounds — and the fifth hit is the 155.20% payout. Raven Slayer spends one round for a ranged Gravitas shot. A parry does not break the chain, and a perfect dodge jumps you straight to hit five.

What is the Detective's core loop?

The loop is one string, one bar, one spend. Start Double-Edged Sword: Truth & Deceit, reach hit three for the first Ammunition, finish hit five for two more, then press the skill button to fire Raven Slayer. The kit has no cooldowns — like every character in the game, it spends a named resource instead — so the speed of the loop depends on how cleanly you keep the basic attack chain alive.

That makes the Detective a momentum character. Hit four is the low point at 17.91%, and the value sits in reaching hit five at 155.20%. Anything that lets you skip or protect the chain is worth more than a single high-damage skill. This is the same build-and-spend principle the combat guide describes for the whole party.

How does Ammunition build during the combo?

Two hits generate rounds. Hit three adds one Ammunition; hit five adds two. The other hits add nothing. The Lv2 charged attack adds one more, so a full string plus a Lv2 charge can bank four rounds before any Raven Slayer cast.

The CBT2 data set does not publish an Ammunition cap, so do not plan around a maximum stack. It also lists Gravity Overdrive as a second tracked value without documenting what it spends on. Treat the +15 as a gain to monitor, not as a promise of a second ammo pool.

How does Raven Slayer extend the string?

Raven Slayer is the ranged Gravitas spend: one Ammunition for a single shot. The useful detail is where it connects. At the end of hit five, pressing the skill button continues the string into Raven Slayer's third hit instead of starting a new combo. That preserves the rhythm and converts the ammo you just generated into damage without a reset.

There is a return path as well. Before Raven Slayer's third hit finishes, pressing the basic attack button chains into the Lv2 charged attack. In practice the clean sequence is hit five, Raven Slayer, then Lv2 charge — three separate damage events with only one ammo spent and one gained back from the charge.

What do parries and perfect dodges change?

A parry does not break the basic attack chain. That is the most important line in the kit: you can parry a yellow-ring attack mid-string and continue from the next hit rather than restarting at hit one. For a character whose payout is on hit five, the parry is effectively a combo-protection button.

A perfect dodge on a red-ring attack does something different: it lets the next basic attack perform hit five directly, and that hit can interrupt the target. The data set also lists a perfect-dodge counter at 155.20%, the same value as hit five. The pursuit attack after a dodge is 57.30%. If you have to choose between holding the chain and taking a hit, hold the chain; if the ring is red, dodge and take the free fifth hit.

The general parry rules are in the combat guide; the Detective benefits more than most from obeying them.

What do the charged attacks add?

There are two levels. Lv1 is a multi-slash at 59.69%. Lv2 is a two-slash sequence at 119.38% that also grants one Ammunition and 15 Gravity Overdrive. The Lv2 is the second-largest single value in the kit after the fifth basic hit, and it is the one that can be reached from the tail of Raven Slayer.

Lv1 charged59.69%
Lv2 charged119.38%

Do not spend the Lv2 charge at the start of a fresh string. It gives back Ammunition, but it also skips the basic hits that would have generated more. The charge is best used at a natural end point: after hit five, after Raven Slayer, or when the target is about to move out of range.

The ratio is the whole build: hit five is roughly 8.7 times hit four and more than triple hit three. Anything that resets the string costs you the payout, and anything that skips hit four is worth more than a skill cast.

What is a clean 15-second rotation?

This is the sequence to practise once the individual pieces are familiar. It is a routing pattern, not a fixed clock — the target's rings decide when you break it.

  1. Open the string and land hits one through three. You now hold one Ammunition.
  2. Finish hit four quickly. It is the low point of the string; do not linger on it.
  3. Land hit five for the payout and two more Ammunition.
  4. Press skill immediately: Raven Slayer chains out of hit five rather than restarting the combo.
  5. Before Raven Slayer's third hit ends, press basic attack for the Lv2 charged attack, which gives back one Ammunition.
  6. Parry the next yellow ring and continue the string from where it stopped.
  7. On a red ring, take the perfect dodge and the free hit five instead of forcing the chain.

The loop is deliberately short. Its purpose is to keep the fifth hit arriving on schedule while the defensive reads stay honest.

Which weapon does the Detective actually use?

Two descriptions are in circulation and they do not agree. One says a summoned double silver sword paired with a revolver. The other says a cane sword — sometimes described as a baton — paired with a revolver. Both descriptions include a firearm, and both are repeated by sources that otherwise agree on the kit.

The in-game text at launch decides. We are not picking one here, and the skill name Double-Edged Sword is not enough to settle it. The percentages and the Ammunition rules are unaffected by the appearance question, but any guide that states the weapon as fact without a launch screenshot is overreaching.

What role does the Detective fill?

The data set labels the kit Striker DPS: 5★, Gravitas, Hero, with the highest single hit in the starter roster. The job is to keep the five-hit string running and convert Ammunition into Raven Slayer casts. The Detective does not supply break or healing, so a party that fields the starter still needs a break character and, for harder content, a sustain slot.

Hugin and Munin share one playable slot and one main story, with separate side stories and dialogue branches. The English data uses the Hugin name for the kit. Comparisons with the other damage dealers are on the Cinderella build and Rex build pages; the roster context is on the characters page.

Version note: all percentages, resource caps and pity counts on this site are CBT2 values from the PC build. The global launch on 14 December 2026 may retune them. Each page is dated; this one was last checked on 2 November 2026.

Common questions

Does a parry reset the Detective's combo?

No. A parry does not break the basic attack chain, so you can continue toward hit five after a successful parry.

Should Raven Slayer always follow hit five?

It is the cleanest connection because the fifth hit can chain into Raven Slayer's third hit, but the skill only needs one Ammunition and can be cast whenever you have a round.

Does Munin have a different kit from Hugin?

The data set publishes one Detective kit under the Hugin name. No separate Munin frame data or percentage table has been released.

What does Gravity Overdrive do?

The Lv2 charged attack grants 15 Gravity Overdrive, but the published data does not document what that bar spends on. Do not assume it is a second Ammunition pool.
